Information Evening

On the evening of 16th March 2016, Friends of the Bucksburn Academy ASN Wing held an information evening. We would like to thank Catherine Stollery (North East Scotland College), Jennifer Court (the Kellas Partnership), Claire Rankine (Skills Development Scotland), Kay Johnston (Transitions Team), and Laura Fearns (Financial Inclusion Team) who all gave informative talks.

The evening was well attended and we hope to make this an annual event.

Unveiling of the new minibus

On the 1st of March 2016, we donated a new minibus to Bucksburn Academy ASN Wing. After a lot of hard work and fundraising by us, staff, pupils, and parents the funds were raised for the new bus. Staff and pupils helped make this into a wonderful event. They had made posters, a display, and some ASN pupils stepped forward to say “thank you”.

The afternoon was well attended by ASN pupils, staff, some of the parents, and our special guests: Aberdeen Football Club’s Angus the Bull, and Micky and Suzie from Northsound One’s breakfast show. Suzie did a great job of  cutting the ribbon on the day while Micky got the loudest cheer out of the pupils for their show the next day.

We heard from some ASN pupils about some of the experiences they have had thanks to access to the bus. We also enjoyed some cake on the day, nicely cut by Mr Thomson and Angus the Bull.

The audio from the interview with Northsound1 is available below:
